Summer Exhibition 2021
2–29 August 2021

When I first started the Green & Stone Summer Exhibition back in 2019 I couldn’t even begin to imagine how large or how competitive this event would become; certainly not over such a short amount of time and with the added misery of lockdowns.
What I always knew though was how talented and brave the artists are who each year submit their artwork to the scrutiny of another judging artist. To all of you who entered, I cannot thank you enough. In all honesty, there were many works that were submitted that should be hanging but the very nature of having a small Gallery will always mean having to leave out some truly incredible artists. As Emma Sergeant, our 2021 judge so rightly observed: we need to find a bigger space to fit in all of the talents next year.
I would like to thank Debbie Loftus and Mary Petherick for making this event happen. They worked around the clock to make this as seamless and as gratifying as possible for you all and deserve medals for getting the show on the road despite incredibly tight deadlines. I would also like to thank our judge, Emma Sergeant, not only for giving up so much of her time but also because she had an extremely hard task: definitely not one I envy.
Lastly, to all the artists, thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us. Without your support, your creativity and your talent, we would not have a show.
