‘Drawing the Portrait from Life’ with Laura Arenson
In drawing the portrait from life we come to observe the human face in ways we have never done so before. In this session we will explore proportions, gesture and structure of the face and learn how to articulate a person's unique likeness and their expressions through the visual language of art. This class aims to nurture enjoyment and self-confidence in drawing in a structured and supported environment.
All levels are welcome.
All art materials provided by Green & Stone.
We will be drawing on St Cuthberts Mill Bockingford® paper.
Drinks kindly provided by Tom Savano Cocktails.
About Laura Arenson
Laura is fascinated in capturing humanity in its most poignant, fragile, and raw form. She explores the beauty and complexity of the human body and the relationship between the outer layers of flesh, bones, muscles and scars with the emotions and lived experiences that lie beneath the surface. Laura’s wish is that through my art she imbues her subjects with a voice to share their stories in a world they so often otherwise go unheard. Laura is a London-based artist and has exhibited in galleries and museums in London, Edinburgh, Paris and Barcelona, including the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and Museu European d'Art Modern.
