It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I introduce you to the artist Florencia Galán Camps, whose work is a celebration of nature's intricate beauty. Born in Córdoba, Argentina, Florencia's journey through history and academia has uniquely shaped her artistic perspective.
Rooted in a family of architects and artists, where creativity was as innate as breathing, Florencia draws upon her rich tapestry of sensory experiences. Her upbringing, surrounded by constant stimuli, from drawing to painting, embroidery, and composing, laid the foundation for her profound connection with the arts.
Florencia's artistic endeavours take us into the heart of nature, where her creations emerge as vibrant floral fireworks. Each stroke is a testament to the timeless beauty of blossoming flowers, capturing the delicate balance between strength and fragility. The colours she employs burst forth with an intensity that mirrors the vitality of the natural world.
Inspired by deep emotional states and driven by an unwavering desire to convey the complexity and beauty of nature, Florencia's work transcends mere representation. Through her floral and botanical representations, she invites us into her world where the essence of each delicate petal is savoured, and the intricacies of the natural world unfold.
Beyond the borders of Argentina, Florencia has graced the art scenes of Spain, leaving an indelible mark from Barcelona to Madrid, Mallorca, the Canary Islands, and Granada. In 2022, her artistic prowess was showcased on a global stage as she painted en-plein air during the United Nations Ocean Conference in Lisbon, capturing the underwater forests of seaweed and corals with breathtaking Acrylics.
As her work finds a temporary home at Green & Stone during the week of the Chelsea Flower Show, we are invited to immerse ourselves in the poetic dance of colours and forms that define Florencia's artistic expression. This exhibition goes beyond the canvas, as we witness nature's grandeur through an artist's eyes.
May this catalogue serve as a portal into the world of Florencia Galán Camps, where each page unfolds a new chapter in the story of nature's splendour, told through the lens of a truly gifted artist.
