Artist Statement

My work is playful and accessible. I am a sculptor and printmaker. My recent themes represent phenomena occurring in our Universe. The two works submitted are aquatint etchings of 'feeding black holes', they are framed in old wooden paper guillotines and viewed through nautical portholes. The unification of these objects hints at nineteenth century science fiction.

I often incorporate ready made objects in my work. The out of context re-assignment and unification of disparate artefacts reveals qualities previously unnoticed.
I exhibit regularly and my solo shows always feature Artwork made exclusively for the host venue, purposefully connecting with some special aspect of the space.
My work is made to be exhibited, I need an audience for the work to be fully realised.
Colour and mischief often feature in my work.
