I have progressed to doing mainly figurative work which I try to imbue with a dreamlike sense of ambiguity and surrealism. I try to give as equal weight to the figure as to the textures and natural images and somehow mesh them together so that the figure and the background create a poetic unity. I use anything that will make a vivid and tactile texture with old brushes, stencils, corrugated cardboard even old fishing nets and sea sponge!
