Artist Statement

I combine Impressionism with the centuries old medium of Egg Tempera to explore the poetic and aesthetic potential of overlooked and everyday objects. Painting in a High Key, I use a variety of semi-transparent brushstrokes to elucidate visual intensity in my subject matter, ranging from humble vegetables to scrunched up paper.
