Artist Statement

I primarily work with oil paint, charcoal, and graphite to study the human form. My work attempts to capture a person in their raw form, showing the honesty that comes from a simple expression. By encapsulating the raw emotion of a subject, I hope to show the beauty that emanates from everyone once you look for it. My pieces invite the viewer to observe the subject and try and disect their gaze or expression. By having curiosity in people around us, we can all be more present and appreciate simple moments.
