Artist Statement

Painting has become my means of exploring and connecting to the visual world and communicating to others the feelings it inspires. I am especially drawn to the complexity of flowers as a subject, and aim to portray the way light reveals their forms, textures and colours to produce evocative floral still life paintings.

Lately I have also been working on self portraits whilst working at the easel, both as a means of exploring light on the human form, and to communicate to the viewer some of the emotion behind the act of painting.
