Artist Statement

My practice consists of painting people, places, and objects from life. Painting exclusively from life allows me to gain a deeper understanding of my relationship with my subject, which changes over the course of the painting, be that two hours or three months. I am currently experimenting with the material elements of painting, like making canvas stretchers, and painting on strange materials like hessian and bedsheets.
