Artist Statement

I work predominately in painting, video and drawing, often using different mediums to express my subject matter. My recent development into the painting reflects my interests in medium of the oil paint, and further investigation into the colour and texture however, my main interest is the story behind the painting. My subject matter has got something to do with an attempt to capture a moment in time in similar manner to the movie stills. For me the viewer is the witness confronted with fears and dark fantasies and paintings acts as a trigger for viewers imaginations. Often unpleasant atmosphere of my paintings forces the viewer to assume the position of the voyeur.
