‘Drawing and Reinterpreting the Masters’ - an art class with Sara Lee Roberts
Drawing and reinterpreting the Masters - Picasso, Auerbach, Cecily Brown and many others have made contemporary work that refers to art of the past. In this class we look at how to make fast and meaningful thumbnail sketches from paintings by the Old Masters. We will then look at ways of responding via coloured drawing to their work as part of a journey towards finding your own contemporary voice. The class is suitable for all levels. All that is needed is a genuine , open-eyed appreciation of both contemporary and past art.
