“Antidote” is the culmination of works created during and after the pandemic. The act of making these works provided me with peace and power, as I painted my own more colourful worlds. These works are a personal ‘antidote' to the challenges of our fast paced contemporary life. My painting process is intuitive and the colours, marks and patterns grow like roots across the paper. I predominantly work with watercolour and gouache and combine colours and textures that excite me. I often repeat motifs and marks with obsession; an outpouring of the subconscious perhaps . The physical act of painting is a precious thing to me; every brush stroke is felt and instinctive.

Harrison is a painter and colourist from North Yorkshire. She has lived in South London for the past decade. She studied at Manchester School of Art followed by an MA (Visual Arts) at Camberwell College of Art (UAL), where she was awarded the Rector’s scholarship. Harrison can be found working from a studio in Brixton, creating abstract paintings and working on commissions. She exhibits regularly across London and her work is held in private collections. She is interested in colour, line and pattern, working intuitively and finding peace and solitude in the act of making.
