'Renaissance of Form: The Tondo Still Life' with Cristina Vercesi

Join us for a unique artistic exploration in "Renaissance of Form: The Tondo Still Life", a two-session painting workshop dedicated to the ancient and evocative tondo format. This workshop offers a contemporary twist on a classic medium, guiding participants through the nuances of circular composition—a refreshing departure from the conventional rectangular canvas.

The tondo, or round canvas with its unique shape, encourages a different approach to balance, harmony, and narrative within the artwork, inviting participants to think creatively about space and design. Cristina Vercesi, known for her vibrant and thoughtful works, will lead you through the circular composition's practical painting techniques and aesthetic appeal.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose their muse from a curated selection of captivating antique objects from G&S Gallery or the natural beauty of various fruits.

A distinctive feature of this workshop is the opportunity for working continuity across both sessions, where artists will dedicate their time and creativity to the same setup. This approach allows for a deeper connection with the subject and offers the time to refine techniques and explore the nuances of oil painting in depth. From mixing colours to mastering strokes and textures, participants will gain invaluable insights, enhancing their skills in a supportive and inspiring environment.

All levels are welcome.
