Artist Statement

My work is a response to the memory and experience of growing up in Trinidad. Through paint and mark making, I search for an image that lies between representation and mystery. My subject matter is diverse. I utilise memories, drawings and photographs and am inspired by the richness of the Trinidadian landscape and culture. My paintings are a visual representation of what I have seen and felt. I work with oil, acrylic, gouache, pencil and charcoal.
