Artist Statement

Shahida sees beauty in shadows. She is a painter of light in all mediums. Loves the creative process. She is inspired by colour which stems from her Pakistani heritage. She is always learning even though she has an Honours degree in visual arts and a masters in Human Rights.

Her passion for painting is drawn from experiences in poverty and injustice, the mark making helps her ease the pain so she paints beauty. She says “we are but a spec in a vast universe, we do what we can to help others” . All the proceeds from her painting sales go to charity.
