Artist Statement

Starting from the simplest of subjects; a painting, a drawing, evolves as I work.
It begins with an acknowledgement or sensation that is as yet visually unknown. A surface, a shape, a colour initiates my response from this void.
I communicate everyday experiences, the visual qualities I encounter are used to connect and reveal a specific link in this space.
I am interested in how the construction and shape is relevant and informs each painting. How it appears to an individual supports an intuitive interaction in each viewer.
